we had a blast today at the church bazaar. we missed the polka band, which everyone was bummed about but the food was good and the boys loved to watch all the people and spend time with nana and grandpa and i won bingo! i am so excited. i won 21 bucks and couldn't be prouder. i think i yelled bingo the loudest too. you gotta let everyone hear! lol. anyway, here is a video of preston eating his cheerios. it is soooo funny. i wanted to post a video of him rockin' out to ryan but maybe i'll post that tomorrow. i know i've been slacking on my updates so these couple videos will hopefully make up for it. well have a great rest of the day! ;)

pop's room!

we sure did enjoy having ryan all to ourselves for the last five days! today was really hard to see him go back to work. the time went by way to fast. he got a lot done though! preston's room is almost done...just have the baseboard left to install and some shelves in his closet, otherwise i moved all preston's stuff in there today! so tonight will be his first night in his own room. we'll see how that goes. anyway here are a few pictures from ryan's time off. :)

so busy.

we have been keeping very busy the last few days. on sunday the boys and i threw a birthday bbq for ryan. that went really well. we had a very nice turn out and even nicer weather. all the boys played in the pool. they were fun to watch. yesterday we worked most of the day on preston's room. all we have left is priming, painting and putting in the flooring. i am so excited. i can't believe all the progress ryan has made. i'm glad he has had a few days off so he can get some stuff done! last night i saw this little frog on my plant. i thought he was the cutest and i instantly thought of my cousin pamela. she would just love him. well i better go help out some more, i just didn't want everyone to think i forgot to post. i've just been oddly busy. ;)

car train.

we had lots of fun yesterday. eagan built a "car train" out of all his cars and him and preston took out what seemed to be all their toys. i have a lot to clean up before ryan's party tomorrow! we also went to nana and grandpa's to celebrate my birthday and fathers day. we had a blast. :)

a few days ago preston started to wave good bye. it is really cute. so i'm putting on a clip of that. he also is doing the sign for drink. i'm getting so excited that he is able to communicate with us. it is so fun. today we had a lot of fun. we had some friends over for a play date and lunch then both the boys took a nap at the same time and i was able to get the bills taken care of and even a little me time. then they woke up, we had a snack and the boys jumped in the pools. that was great. preston had so much fun splashing and eagan had a blast playing with all his tub toys in a big pool. we ended the day with a walk where we came upon a mommy turtle laying eggs. too cool. what a nice day. be sure to watch the video below!

little falls zoo.

today we had a lot of fun. we went to the little falls zoo (the prairie dogs were preston's favorite) and then we ate at their pizza ranch. the food was great and the boys loved dancing to the country music. we also swam in the kiddie pools and just relaxed in the sun. ryan even made some great bbq. :) oh and ryan gave me an awesome new camera! you'll be sure to see plenty of new pictures! :P

today we had so much fun visiting with auntie darcie. it was great to see her again. the boys loved it! preston has started dancing. he loves to head bang...i think he sould go see uncle chaddies band. he would fit right in! so here is preston dancing to some elvis. "little elvis preston" uncle chaddie calls him...how fitting. :) tomorrow we get to go see nana. eveyone is very excited!

storm.

last night we had one heck of a storm at our house. we ended up in the basement for the first time about 8pm then again from 10:30-midnight. we had very strong straight line winds and lots of rain and a little bit of hail. we lost a very big tree which ended up landing on my new fence and eagan's play yard. my dad (larry) is going to come over tonight and cut the tree off the fence and see if he can save our crab apple which ryan and his grandpa planted together a few years ago. (ryan's favorite tree) i think i'll also see if he will fix a piece of siding that got torn half way off and keeps slapping the house on my bedroom side. ryan had to go in to work today and will be working until my birthday. yuck. well at least everyone is safe and now we just have to get the place cleaned up for a play date that i am hosting on wednesday and for ryan's birthday party on sunday...the 22nd.

speed racer.

we didn't do much today. we took a load to the landfill and spent most of the day outside. everyone was happy to have such a beautiful weather! all day preston has been crawling on his hands and knees. i think he figured it out that he is much faster this way. :) have a great night!

fathers day gift...check.

last night was preston's first night of sleeping in his crib. he has slept in it before but for only a few hours than i brought him to bed with us. yesterday morning he was playing with eagan on the bed and i rolled over to see him just about crawl right off the bed. so i said 'tonight you will be sleeping in your crib' thank goodness i rolled over just when i did. it took him a little over an hour to fall asleep then at midnight he woke up but i was able to get him back to sleep in about five minutes. than four thirty came. he was up for an hour and a half chewing my butt off. finally he fell back asleep and slept till eight thirty. he woke up happy and not hating me so that is a definite plus. we will see how tonight goes. hopefully we will both have alot less tears. today we were going to go to the park for a big play date with a bunch of friends from school but we got rained out. so instead we went and got ryan his father's day present. ryan got home from work about three and pretty much went right to work on preston's room. i am so excited to get that done! he is putting up the last of the drywall as i write. i was sanding a bit but the boys got to nosey so i had to stop. hopefully tomorrow we can get a coat of primer on and maybe just maybe the floor installed. oh wouldn't that be wonderful?! ryan has a lot of other things on his list for tomorrow...his one day off this week; he won't have another one until tuesday. the pics i posted are of the boys having a snack of blueberries and then eagan playing in his tunnel. have a great night...i think i'll go help ryan...if i can.

home sweet home.

we are back from our little vacation! it feels so good to be home...about as good as it felt to see everyone whom we love so much. we had a blast. there was lots of swimming in the pool for eagan and daddy and some soaking in the hot tub for preston and me. the pool was just to cold for us!) we had a fantastic supper at auntie pammy's house where we gathered quite the crowd. (i think they came to see the cute boys. lol.) we also were able to spend some quality time with great grandpa and great yaya as eagan called her. that was so much fun for eagan to be able to run around the yard and have mom not worry about the ticks...but she still did. :P then we went to a wedding and the reception for my cousin. (the reception was at the vintage ballroom in faribault for those whom i couldn't remember the name) the wedding was short sweet and to the point...just the way we like it. and the reception was really nice, but the boys had had enough buy the time supper was done so we went back to the hotel to swim. we ordered some pizza for a bedtime snack (basel's) and then well...went to bed! got up and headed home. and here we are. so thank you to everyone for a wonderful weekend! can't wait to see you all again.

art

today the boys painted some art to take with them to Grandma and Grandpa Rays on saturday. we are so excited to visit everyone in Northfield...and to have ryan to ourselves for the weekend. so we will be back to post again on monday! :) have a great weekend! i know we will!

baby blue eyes.

this morning we had a play date with our friends amanda and her son axton. we went to the park and the dock to see the fish and then it started to rain. so we headed to darins to pick up some orange cosmo seeds. he was working so eagan was sad he didn't get to see him or nitro but then we went to target and got some popcorn...that seemed to make him a bit happier. i put up a couple of pictures of prestons teeth...although you can barley see them, but his eyes look so beautiful i had to post them anyway. ryan thought he might be able to get off early tonight so i really hope so. we can't wait to see him. eagan wants him to play so bad that when a menards comerical comes on the t.v. he starts yelling "daddy money daddy home!" it's cute but also kind of sad. we are so looking forward to him having this weekend off. its about time!

two teeth...all the better to eat dirt with.

today we had alot of fun at the mall. we picked up a wedding gift for my cousin, ate some ice cream and the boys drove some heavy machinery. it was pretty chilly and rainy out so other than going to the mall we stayed inside. preston had his second tooth pop through yesterday. we are all so excited. eagan had six teeth by the time he was eight months (like pop) so we've been waiting quite a while! i have quite the hole in my beautiful peace lily that darcie gave me from preston quickly grabbing a handful of dirt and shoving it in his mouth. i have no idea why he likes dirt so much but it always reminds me of how heidi loved grass. lol. i have yet to find something that he won't eat. for supper he ate two fish sticks and wanted more. i really thought he wouldn't like them. preston also went crazy last night for the corn dogs. well it's just about bath time at the niesens...so have a good night!

music in the park.

yesterday we got up and headed to the park first thing in the morning. i knew it was saposto get pretty warm and thought we'd beat the heat. when we got there they were setting up for a bicycle rally. we played on the equipment and walked down to the dock and watched a dad and two kids fish. then we went back to check on how the set up was going and there was a band warming up. we watched the band for a while and ate some snacks before heading back. we had pretty perfect timing to see such activity going on at our usually quiet park. then we came home and the boys played outside. eagan learned how to pop a wheelie on his bike and preston has mastered going forward in his walker. we at some lunch, the boys took their naps and then they swam in the pool. well preston splashed...lots, and eagan covered his face until he decided he had had enough and got out. i soaked my feet. it felt wonderful. i just wished ryan was there relaxing too. then we had some supper and were right back outside to bike more. preston has been working so hard on getting his little teeth to come through and yesterday i felt a little poke. they keep coming up and down and up and down. i hope they stay up. he has his two front bottom teeth picking on him. i think he will feel alot better when they finally stay up. well i think there is mass chaos going on in the living room, i should go check that out. have a great day!
