time with daddy.

today we had lots of fun with ryan. he had to work but only for a few hours. we went out for breakfast and went to the beach. for as warm as the day was as late in the summer as it is i couldn't believe how cold the water still was. unless we go to the beach again in the next few days i think this may have been our last beach trip. sounds like we're going to have some pretty cold weather moving in! i'm getting really excited for it! i LOVE fall. have a great night! :)

proof that boys play hard.

today i finally threw preston's shoes in the trash. they lasted throu eagan with hardly any wear and in the matter of months preston has destroyed them. should it really be this hard to let them go?! i guess it is yet another sign that preston isn't really a baby any more. we had a blast at the park this morning. it started to get pretty busy so we came home for snack. well i guess i just wanted to post something before i got to busy. so have a great day everyone!

keeping busy!

we have been keeping very busy the past few days. ryan started school yesterday and says that he really likes it. he has had three out of his five classes and met both of his teachers. his biggest (or most time consuming) class starts tomorrow. lets just hope he likes that one as much as the rest being he will need to take it for the next two years! the boys and i have been checking out parks that we hadn't been to yet this summer and eagan amazed me today as he used his monkey skills to climb. he had a blast going through all the tunnels and going down the big slide. preston enjoyed digging in the sand. i of course forgot my camera but i'm sure we'll go back soon.

today we had a wonderful breeze so we brought out the kite. we had lots of fun flying it and eagan had even more fun trying to get it down from the trees.

i was in the living room when i heard preston laughing really hard so i went to the kitchen to see what was going on...this is what i saw.

turtle races.

today we went to the nisswa turtle races! there were almost 400 racers, although it didn't seem that busy. both the boys raced turtles, neither won. they raced three different times and the last time i had ryan help both the boys so i could get a few pictures. in that race the turtles just wanted to play together instead of race! the first race i helped preston and i thought for sure we had a winner. that little guy was go-go-going in his bucket but as soon as i set him on the start line he just sat there! we were splashing him and everything, then when the whistle blew that there was a winner he started to go. he must have missed the first whistle! lol. anyway it was alot of fun.

camping!

we went camping last night at terre's house. it was a blast. the boys did great and we can't wait to go again. :)

grandpa and nana's!

although the boys look a little scared you would not believe how much eagan LOVED four wheelin' with grandpa. this was both of their first times on the four wheeler and as you all know eagan takes a little time to warm up but by the time grandpa got back from a quick trip down the driveway eagan wanted more. he didn't let grandpa rest today. "eagan four wheeler please!" even when i tried to put him to bed tonight he was saying "more nana's. eagan four wheeler please!" i think grandpa just found himself a new four wheelin' buddy!

we had a pretty big day yesterday. i took the boys to the park for a play date where we met up with three of eagan's friends and one of preston's. grandpa even stopped by to say hi to the boys. eagan made cup cakes to share with his friends and when we got home ryan asked for one of the extras and eagan said "no! friends!" but that didn't stop him this morning when he snuck into the kitchen before ryan and i were up to eat one! (and make quite the mess doing so!) after the park we went for a walk and had some lunch. in the afternoon the boys swam in preston's pool and then ryan bbqed. it was so yummy! i love bbq vegetables, and we had plenty. we ended the day with a walk and eagan rode his bike. then it was off to bed. :)

silly preston.

we have been having a lot of fun the past few days. we took the boys to the fair. preston could have cared less and eagan was extra shy but ryan and i enjoyed looking at all the animals. they had a little farm there and eagan went through it and "helped with chores" it was really cute. when preston is eating now he has decided to be a little clown. it is so funny! he holds the spoon with his teeth and starts talking. it's really messy but man do we laugh! (i'm guessing that's why he keeps doing it!) saturday afternoon chad, darcie, mom, shaun, lacy and grant all came over and hung out. we ordered some pizza and had a great time. eagan is still stuck on auntie darcie. today he was asking if we could go to auntie darcie's house. if only she lived closer i told him. yesterday ryan finished installing the flooring in the hallway and putting back up the trim. it looks great! today he tackled the master bathroom. i think that will be a while before it's done. it is way to big of a project! well tonight i'm gonna take the boys to shaun's to play with grant. that should be fun! :) be sure to watch the video below!!

baja baby!

last night ryan and i went to the baja ralley races at the crow wing county fair. it was awesome! we saw six roll overs. this van was a crowd favorite. he is facing the wrong way and obviously on his side...but he just kicked his feet out the window and pushed on the bank and started driving again. it was hilarious. it started at 7pm and we left at 10:30pm and there was still plenty of racing to go. i wish i would have remembered that i brought my camera earlier, there was tons of pile ups to take pictures of. oh well. i think next year we will bring eagan. he'll love it! today we are bringing the boys to the fair to see all the animals and then auntie darcie and uncle chaddie will be coming over...oh yeah on one more thing about our date last night! when we got there i "noticed" that they had bingo!!!! of course i was dragging ryan into the tent. we waited for the last game to end, put in our two bucks, and seven numbers later i yelled "BINGO!" the crowed booed and i cheered and then we stood up and walked away with $15.25. not bad!!!
