today i whipped up this little dress for gwendolyn to wear to her soon to be auntie charly's bridal shower. (it's hawaiian themed) it is by no means perfect but i think she looks pretty cute in it. (i have yet to find something she doesn't look cute in though!) it's not to bad for not using a pattern. :) i'm sure she will love the birdie on it when she isn't to busy watching mickey mouse on t.v.
This blog is all about the Niesen family. Ryan and Kristen started dating in August 2003 and were married October 28th 2006. They have two super cute little boys and one beautiful litte girl. Eagan was born March 9th 2006, Preston was born September 25th 2007 and Gwendolyn was born January 6th 2011. goats and birds.
yesterday my mother-in-law took the kids and i out to her aunts house to see some goats. i was super excited! i want a goat so bad!! i want to milk her and make goat cheese and drink goat milk. it's on my bucket list. well we got to see goats and pet the few that weren't scared of us (loud little children can be pretty scary!) and even drink some goat milk. all in all it was a lot of fun.
the first of my poppies bloomed yesterday!
preston with one of the twins. he loved the goats. :) he was very interested in the horns.
preston and uncle vic with one of the goats.
eagan driving his animal train. he tied all the cars together and has been driving them around off and on yesterday and most of today.
the boys found a bird that needed some help. he couldn't fly yet and was looking and calling for his mama. the boys gave him lots of love and attention and were so excited to hold a bird. we watched for mamma for a while and she came to baby but wasn't happy with us hanging around so we went inside and haven't seen baby since. (i've checked on his location a few times and he hasn't been back.)

our trip to the black hills!!
We had a blast camping in the black hills! Eagan LOVED all the climbing. It was so great to get out there with nature and not have to worry about ticks (which i still kind of did) and there were NO misquotes! They are thick here. :( we had to do all the touristy things like the corn palace and we stopped at lots of rest stops but we made the trip in 12 hours each way all in one day. (well two days one day there and one day back) We stopped to see my Grandparents and got this AWESOME photo of Gwendolyn and Great Grandpa. (sorry that one is out of order!!) But yeah! It was a really nice trip away from reality for a few days.
can you imagine how big that tent seems to a 16 month old?! she thought it was great!!
